Flowering May - June. Rhizomatous perennial. Native

Loose panicles of flowers, the six tepals white inside, pinkish-grey underneath and the stamens very white-woolly. The seed capsules are globose. All the narrow greyish-green leaves are basal and are as long or longer than the flower stalks. Height 20-40cm

A very rare and protected species, classed as Near Threatened in the Red Data List 2016. Only found in a few sites on rocky ground in Co. Kerry and West Cork.
