Flowering June - July. Shrub. Native in the Burren, Co. Clare.

Clusters of five-petalled yellow flowers. Male plants have flowers with stamens but stamens are absent on female plants. The pinnate leaves are greyish-green with five untoothed leaflets. A much-branched deciduous shrub with peeling bark. Height to 1m.

Native in the Burren, Co. Clare on rocky ground near loughs and turloughs and classed as Vulnerable in the 2016 Red Data List of Vascular Plants. Frequently planted as a garden shrub so can also be found as a garden escape or relic of cultivation.
