Autumn Hawkbit Scorzoneroides autumnalis (Leontodon autumnalis) Crág phortáin Family: Asteraceae Flowering time: June - October. Perennial. Native. 2-7 yellow flowers on branched flower stalks with few scale leaves. Seed achenes with a pappus of feathery hairs but without a beak. Very variable, leaves are untoothed to deeply pinnate, hairless or sparsely hairy. Height: 15-35cm. Very frequent on roadsides and damp grassland. Similar: Rough Hawkbit, Leontodon hispidus. Similar yellow flowers but much hairier, wavy-toothed leaves. |
