Lax, open seedheads with large fruit (more than 2.5 mm). Plants are usually over 1m tall. Identified by Paul Green

Infrequent but can be locally common on estuarine mud and by tidal rivers in counties Waterford, Wexford and Limerick.

Similar: Rumex crispus subsp. crispus. Abundant on waste and cultivated ground. R. crispus subsp. littoreus. Coastal shingle, dunes.
