Tall Melilot Melilotus altissimus Crúibín cait mór Family: Fabaceae Flowering June-August. Biennial / perennial. Probably introduced. Loose elongated racemes of yellow flowers with the standard, wings and keel more/less equal in length. The fruits are black when ripe, ridged, more/less hairy and usually 2-seeded. Strong erect growth to 1.5m tall Frequent in parts of County Dublin but an occasional casual elsewhere in Ireland on disturbed ground on roadsides, waste ground, grassland and railway banks.
