Flowering: Early summer. Evergreen perennial. Introduced.

Round heads of petal-less flowers followed by burrs with 2 barbed spines. Bright-green leaves with (usually) 9 leaflets, narrow oblong-oval. Stems woody at base, hairy. Prostrate, rooting, mat-forming.

An occasional garden escape found in woodland and on paths. Can be invasive. Identified by Paul Green, BSBI
