Northern Yellow-cress Rorippa islandica s.s. Biolar buí na Boirne Family: Brassicaceae Flowering: June-October. Annual or short-lived perennial. Native. Small yellow flowers, the 4 petals shorter or equal to sepals. Seedpods are held to one side of stalk, slightly curved, 2-3 x length fruit stalk. Basal leaves often lyre-shaped and pinnately-lobed, stem leaves unstalked and either lobed or unlobed. Hairless plant, stems procumbent to ascending. Scattered distribution in Ireland on bare damp ground, pond edges, turloughs and beside streams. Identified by Paul Green, Co.Wexford. Similar: Marsh Yellow-cress, Rorippa palustris |
