Hybrid Avens Geum rivale x urbanum (Geum x intermedium) Family: Rosaceae Flowering time: April-September. Perennial. Native. Hybrid between Water Avens, G. rivale and Wood Avens, G. urbanum. Identification confirmed by Paul Green A fertile hybrid, usually occuring where both parents are found but very variably intermediate in appearance. The bottom photograph shows the flowers of all three species for comparison. Widespread but most frequently recorded from Northern Ireland. |
