Western Sea-Lavender Limonium recurvum subsp. pseudotranswallianum Lus liath na Boirne Family: Plumbaginaceae Flowering time: July-August. Perennial. Native. Branched clusters of small blue-mauve flowers with overlapping petals. Basal rosettes of bluish-green spatulate leaves with 1-3 indistinct veins and the stems and branches feel rough to the touch. Height to 20cm. Endemic to Ireland and only found in a few locations on limestone cliffs on the Aran Isles and in the Burren, Co. Clare Similar: Rock Sea-lavender, Limonium binervosum agg. Very variable. Found on coastal cliffs, among rocks and on shingle beaches |
