Mugwort Artemisia vulgaris Mongach meisce Family: Asteraceae Flowering time: July-October. Perennial. Native, Narrow panicles of tiny red-brown flower-heads with leaf-like lower bracts. The alternate leaves are twice-pinnate, dark green above and silvery white and downy underneath. An aromatic, erect, branched, downy plant with reddish pithy stems. Height 60-120cm. Grows on waste ground, roadsides, scrub, embankments and river-sides. Native, but also found as a garden escape. |
