Solomon's-seal Polygonatum multiflorum agg. Family: Lilaceae Flowering time: May-June. Rhizomatous perennial. Introduced. The clusters of pendulous whitish-green flowers are followed by poisonous black-blue berries. Alternate, un-toothed and pointed leaves grow from each side of the hairless, arching, round stems. Height: 30-80cm. An occasional garden escape or discard mainly on calcareous soils in damp, deciduous woodland. Scattered Irish distribution with most records from Northern Ireland |
