Celery-leaved Buttercup Ranunculus sceleratus Toicheas fiáin Family: Ranunculaceae Flowering time: May-September. Annual. Native. Yellow flowers with reflexed sepals and an elongated receptacle when the seeds are ripe. Leaves are more/less fleshy, long-stalked basal leaves deeply 3-lobed, stem leaves narrower with shorter stalks. Stems are hollow and grooved. Height 20-60cm. Prefers nutrient-rich damp or wet soil in ditches and marshes and beside ponds and streams. Tolerates brackish or stagnant conditions and stunted plants can be found on dryer ground. |
