Small Nettle Urtica urens Neantóg bheag Family: Urticaceae Flowering time: June-August. Annual. Introduced. The yellow-green flowers are smaller than those of Common Nettle and not in long catkins. Male and female flowers on same plant. The light green leaves are deeply toothed and covered with stinging hairs. Height 20-60 cm Scattered distribution in Ireland but fairly common on light disturbed soils in gardens, arable land and waste ground. Similar: Common Nettle, Urtica dioica Native, very common
