Sea Couch x Sand Couch Elytrigia x acuta (Elytrigia atherica x juncea) Family: Poaceae Hybrid between Sea Couch and Sand Couch. Native. Similar to E. x laxa (Sand Couch x Common Couch) but has minute hairs on free margin of leaf-sheaths. (Ref: Stace 1995) Occurs with parents on coastal sand or shingle and in the transition zone between dunes and saltmarshes. South and SW Irish coasts. Distribution uncertain, probably under-recorded.
