Hybrid Pansy Viola x contempta (Viola arvensis x tricolor) Family: Violaceae Annual. Native Intermediate growth characteristics between Field Pansy, Viola arvensis and Wild Pansy, Viola tricolor. It can be found in the absence of the parent species but is usually found where one or both are present. Partially fertile. Similar to variants of either species. Occasional, rarely recorded so its frequency is very uncertain, on waste and cultivated ground. Identified by Paul Green and Ian Green.
