Flowering time: May-July. Annual. Native.

Tiny flowers, usually with 4 sepals, petals minute or absent.
Small pointed leaves on lax, ascending stems, not forming central leaf rosette. Leaves end abruptly in slender, bristle-like point (awn). Height: 3-10cm.

Frequent on dry bare ground, sand, gravel, pavements, paths.
