Yorkshire Fog Dense feathery flower-heads, branched, pyramidal. Pinkish or greenish-white 2-flowered spikelets. Upper flower has short awn, hooked at tip, not protruding past glumes. Soft pale-green leaves, lower sheaths veined reddish-purple. Downy stems and leaves. Densely tufted stems, 30-70cm. Abundant, roadsides, waste ground, fields, gardens.
