Tall Fescue Identification by Paul Green Broad flowerheads with spreading branches, each panicle branch with lanceolate to oval spikelets. Stiff, rough leaves 8-10mm wide with short ligules. Whitish decaying leaf-sheaths. Strong tufted growth, stems 70-180cm. Found in rough grassland, roadsides and on damp ground. Widespread in Ireland except in the SW.
