Couch Elytrigia repens Broimfhéar Family: Poaceae Flowering June - August. Perennial. Native. Erect tufted grass, far-creeping underground rhizomes. 30-100cm. Stiff, slender flowerheads with close-set, overlapping spikelets. Flat leaves, hairless or sparsely hairy, upper surface rough. Spreads rapidly by rhizomes and root fragments.
