Summer flowering. Evergreen or semi-evergreen shrub. Garden escape.

Erect cymes of pink-tinged white flowers are followed by spherical red-orange fruit. The glossy dark-green leaves are white-woolly underneath on erect, arching branches. Vigorous growth, height and spread to 3m.

Grown in gardens as hedging shrub and occasionally recorded as garden escape. Most records are from south-east Ireland. Identified by Paul Green
