Evergreen shrub or small tree. Garden escape.

Small yellow flowers in spring. Small black berries on female plants in autumn.
Un-pruned plants produce seed freely. Aromatic evergreen leaves,
wavy-edged. Can be susceptible to frost damage. Height: To 6m +.

Bird-sown garden escape or throw-out from cultivation.
Most frequently recorded in the wild in southern parts of Ireland.
